Software development for SaaS companies and startups

JasperByte builds SaaS products and startup MVPs, from the first release through to the architecture that carries real customer load. We handle multi-tenancy, subscription billing with Stripe, authentication, and the AWS infrastructure underneath, so a small founding team can ship a credible product without hiring a full engineering department first.

What we build for saas & startups

  • MVPs that survive contact with usersA first release narrow enough to ship quickly but built so version two is not a rewrite.
  • Multi-tenant architectureTenant isolation, per-account configuration, and data separation decided deliberately rather than discovered later.
  • Subscription billingStripe plans, trials, upgrades, proration, dunning, and the webhook handling that keeps entitlements accurate.
  • Admin and analytics toolingThe internal dashboards your team needs to support customers without querying the production database.
  • Scaling workQuery optimisation, caching, background job architecture, and the infrastructure changes that come with growth.

What makes this sector different

Early-stage products live or die on how quickly they can change. That argues for a small, boring, well-factored codebase — not a microservice architecture for a product with forty users. We deliberately keep early systems simple, because the constraint at that stage is learning speed, not scale.

It also means being honest about technical debt. Some shortcuts are correct at seed stage and become dangerous at Series A. We flag which is which as we go, so you take those shortcuts knowingly and can pay them down on your own schedule.

And investors will eventually look at what you built. Clean repositories, sensible infrastructure, no single point of failure sitting in one person’s laptop — that is worth having in place before someone starts asking.

FAQ

SaaS & Startups questions we get asked.

Can you build our MVP?

Yes, and the hardest part is usually cutting scope. A good MVP tests one assumption properly rather than doing eight things adequately. We push hard on narrowing the first release, because that is what gets you real user feedback inside a quarter rather than a year.

We have a technical co-founder — can you still help?

Often that works best. We take a defined workstream — the mobile app, the billing system, the infrastructure — and run it alongside your own development, so your co-founder stays on the core product instead of context-switching.

What happens when we hire our own engineers?

We hand over cleanly. Documented code, infrastructure defined in code, and a real onboarding session rather than a zip file and good luck. Several of our engagements are explicitly structured to end that way, and that is a success, not a loss.

Do you take equity instead of fees?

No — we work on standard commercial terms. It keeps the relationship straightforward and means our advice is not shaped by a position on your cap table.
